Moon King the project of Daniel Benjamin and Maddy Wilde, is connected to the Toronto scene of Doldrums, Grimes, and Austra, but finds their influences in the likes of the Cocteau Twins. “Appel”, off their EP Obsessions II, is a hi-res shoegaze anthem that interweaves the duo’s voices in a dreamlike haze. Obsessions II is out August 14 on One Big Silence, the label run by Mike Haliechuk of Fucked Up. Moon King is playing Shea Stadium on March 3.
